Historically, Christians have often been persecuted, and, as Bro. Jeff points out, we or our children may be persecuted in the near future. We often see that as a terrible thing, but listen and learn about the surprisingly wonderful way our sovereign God uses evil for good.
Why did the writer of the book of Acts tell us about Stephen’s death? He was not only willing to follow Jesus to the point of a violent death, but, as Bro. Jeff points out, he also provides an example for us of a dedicated Christian life, with its rewards after life.
