Blessed be the LORD ~Psalm 28:6

Lessons On Love, Part 1

“How are you doing when it comes to love?  Do you really love God?  Do you really love the people around you?”  Bro. Jeff describes God’s expectation of love in this soul-searching message.

John 13:34-35 KJV

34 A new commandment I give unto you, That ye love one another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another. 35 By this shall all [men] know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another.

John 14:15, 21, 23

15 If ye love me, keep my commandments. … 21 He that hath my commandments, and keepeth them, he it is that loveth me: and he that loveth me shall be loved of my Father, and I will love him, and will manifest myself to him. … 23 Jesus answered and said unto him, If a man love me, he will keep my words: and my Father will love him, and we will come unto him, and make our abode with him.

John 15:9-10, 12-13, 17

9 As the Father hath loved me, so have I loved you: continue ye in my love. 10 If ye keep my commandments, ye shall abide in my love; even as I have kept my Father’s commandments, and abide in his love. … 12 This is my commandment, That ye love one another, as I have loved you. 13 Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends. … 17 These things I command you, that ye love one another.

John 16:27

27 For the Father himself loveth you, because ye have loved me, and have believed that I came out from God.

1 Corinthians 12:31

31 But covet earnestly the best gifts: and yet shew I unto you a more excellent way.

1 Corinthians 13:1, 13

1 Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, and have not charity, I am become [as] sounding brass, or a tinkling cymbal. … 13 And now abideth faith, hope, charity, these three; but the greatest of these [is] charity.

Matthew 22:34-40

34 But when the Pharisees had heard that he had put the Sadducees to silence, they were gathered together. 35 Then one of them, [which was] a lawyer, asked [him a question], tempting him, and saying, 36 Master, which [is] the great commandment in the law? 37 Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. 38 This is the first and great commandment. 39 And the second [is] like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. 40 On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets.

Romans 13:8-10

8 Owe no man any thing, but to love one another: for he that loveth another hath fulfilled the law. 9 For this, Thou shalt not commit adultery, Thou shalt not kill, Thou shalt not steal, Thou shalt not bear false witness, Thou shalt not covet; and if [there be] any other commandment, it is briefly comprehended in this saying, namely, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. 10 Love worketh no ill to his neighbour: therefore love [is] the fulfilling of the law.

Galatians 5:14

14 For all the law is fulfilled in one word, [even] in this; Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.

Deuteronomy 10:19

19 Love ye therefore the stranger: for ye were strangers in the land of Egypt.

Ephesians 5:25

25 Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it;

Titus 2:4

4 That they may teach the young women to be sober, to love their husbands, to love their children,

1 Corinthians 13:2

2 And though I have [the gift of] prophecy, and understand all mysteries, and all knowledge; and though I have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, and have not charity, I am nothing.

Colossians 3:12-14

12 Put on therefore, as the elect of God, holy and beloved, bowels of mercies, kindness, humbleness of mind, meekness, longsuffering; 13 Forbearing one another, and forgiving one another, if any man have a quarrel against any: even as Christ forgave you, so also [do] ye. 14 And above all these things [put on] charity, which is the bond of perfectness.
