Despite their knowledge of Old Testament scriptures, the Jewish leaders could not see themselves in the prophecies they read. Even the many declarations of Christ’s innocence did not deter their condemnation and crucifixion of our Savior. Why? Because our sovereign God had a plan for our redemption. The contrast between the world’s perception of greatness and God’s view of greatness is clear in the passage of scripture that is the focus this message. Our view of greatness often falls more in line with that of the Jewish leaders in Jesus’ day, but Bro. Jeff encourages to to adopt God’s view of greatness and to see Jesus for who He really is.
It is human nature to want to be great. We want to win. We like to be associated with those who are considered great. Even though this desire for greatness is encouraged in our society, Bro.
