The last days will be characterized by empty religion that “doesn’t change your life, transform your heart, set you free from sin, get you to Heaven, nor make you right with God.” Jesus exposed the empty, powerless, shallow religion in his day, and Bro. Jeff describes how it continues today.
“When the evidence is right in front of you, and you can’t see it, then you know you are blind.” The same spiritual blindness exhibited by Jewish leaders in Jesus’ day is evident today; they didn’t believe that Jesus is who He says He is. Because they aren’t careful of their personal integrity, many people lose their ability to be an effective disciple of Christ. Paul’s encouragement to Timothy applies to us as well. Bro. Jeff encourages us to keep our minds on Christ and stand for the gospel.

The contrast between the world’s perception of greatness and God’s view of greatness is clear in the passage of scripture that is the focus this message. Our view of greatness often falls more in line with that of the Jewish leaders in Jesus’ day, but Bro. Jeff encourages to to adopt God’s view of greatness and to see Jesus for who He really is.
