If you’ve ever accidentally taken the wrong exit when traveling, then you understand the need to turn back and head the right direction. That need is even more great when we are headed the wrong direction spiritually. Bro. Jeff exhorts us to examine the way that we live and look for places in our lives in which we may be going the wrong way.
Just as Paul stressed to Timothy the importance of attending to truth, Bro. Jeff expresses how much more important that admonishment is for us today. We are nearer to end times than those apostles; our world needs the diligence of believers.
Because they aren’t careful of their personal integrity, many people lose their ability to be an effective disciple of Christ. Paul’s encouragement to Timothy applies to us as well. Bro. Jeff encourages us to keep our minds on Christ and stand for the gospel.
“It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God.” Along with the writer of Hebrews, Malachi warns of the fearful day of God’s judgment on unbelievers. In contrast, it will be a time of healing, liberty, and victory for followers of Jesus Christ.
