Blessed be the LORD ~Psalm 28:6

Prove All Things 6

If you’ve ever accidentally taken the wrong exit when traveling, then you understand the need to turn back and head the right direction.  That need is even more great when we are headed the wrong direction spiritually.  Bro. Jeff exhorts us to examine the way that we live and look for places in our lives in which we may be going the wrong way.

  1. Despise Not Prophesyings
  2. Prove All Things
    1. The Principles
    2. The Priorities
      1. The Teaching We Hear
      2. The Spirits We Encounter
      3. The Salvation We Profess
      4. The Way That We Live

1 Thessalonians 5:14-22 KJV

14 Now we exhort you, brethren, warn them that are unruly, comfort the feebleminded, support the weak, be patient toward all [men]. 15 See that none render evil for evil unto any [man]; but ever follow that which is good, both among yourselves, and to all [men]. 16 Rejoice evermore. 17 Pray without ceasing. 18 In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you. 19 Quench not the Spirit. 20 Despise not prophesyings.

21 Prove all things; hold fast that which is good. 22 Abstain from all appearance of evil.

Lamentations 3:40

40 Let us search and try our ways, and turn again to the LORD.

Haggai 1:5, 7

5 Now therefore thus saith the LORD of hosts; Consider your ways. … 7 Thus saith the LORD of hosts; Consider your ways.

Jeremiah 7:3

3 Thus saith the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel, Amend your ways and your doings, and I will cause you to dwell in this place.

Galatians 5:15-17

15 But if ye bite and devour one another, take heed that ye be not consumed one of another. 16 [This] I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh. 17 For the flesh lusteth against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh: and these are contrary the one to the other: so that ye cannot do the things that ye would.

Psalm 119:59-60, 168

59 I thought on my ways, and turned my feet unto thy testimonies. 60 I made haste, and delayed not to keep thy commandments. … 168 I have kept thy precepts and thy testimonies: for all my ways [are] before thee.

Psalm 128:1

1 [[A Song of degrees.]] Blessed [is] every one that feareth the LORD; that walketh in his ways.

Psalm 1:1-3

1 Blessed [is] the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful. 2 But his delight [is] in the law of the LORD; and in his law doth he meditate day and night. 3 And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper.

Isaiah 53:6

6 All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way; and the LORD hath laid on him the iniquity of us all.

Isaiah 55:6-9

6 Seek ye the LORD while he may be found, call ye upon him while he is near: 7 Let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts: and let him return unto the LORD, and he will have mercy upon him; and to our God, for he will abundantly pardon. 8 For my thoughts [are] not your thoughts, neither [are] your ways my ways, saith the LORD. 9 For [as] the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts.

Proverbs 14:12

12 There is a way which seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof [are] the ways of death.

Matthew 7:13-14

13 Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide [is] the gate, and broad [is] the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat: 14 Because strait [is] the gate, and narrow [is] the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.

Acts 18:24-26

24 And a certain Jew named Apollos, born at Alexandria, an eloquent man, [and] mighty in the scriptures, came to Ephesus. 25 This man was instructed in the way of the Lord; and being fervent in the spirit, he spake and taught diligently the things of the Lord, knowing only the baptism of John. 26 And he began to speak boldly in the synagogue: whom when Aquila and Priscilla had heard, they took him unto [them], and expounded unto him the way of God more perfectly.
