Tonight’s message is full of tales of treachery and deceit, recklessness and conceit. Does that bring to mind a popular novel or movie, or do you think of how offensive these are to a our holy Creator? Bro. Jeff invites us to some self-examination as he continues describing the people of the last days.
Israel’s situation was dire, much like ours is today. Bro. Jeff looks at some grievous Biblical accounts of the sin and wickedness that leads to God’s judgment. “It’s time to seek the Lord!”
“It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God.” Along with the writer of Hebrews, Malachi warns of the fearful day of God’s judgment on unbelievers. In contrast, it will be a time of healing, liberty, and victory for followers of Jesus Christ.
While the hand of God usually brings blessing, it can also bring judgment. As a consequence of his spiritual darkness, the sorcerer receives a punishment of seasonal darkness. The Bible doesn’t continue the account of the sorcerer’s life, but we hope he surrendered to Jesus as his Lord and Savior. Bro. Jeff describes the eternal darkness that results for those who don’t receive the wonderful gift of salvation. So much in this message applies to us today.
God is faithful to protect us in our tribulations and temptations. We can trust Him and rely on Him; He is always faithful when we depend on Him. Bro. Jeff encourages us in this message on the trustworthiness of God.
“Ready or not, here I come!” While the child’s game of Hide-and-Seek is fun and games, the return of Jesus is serious. Ready or not, He will return. Is it possible for us to know when?
