Blessed be the LORD ~Psalm 28:6

The Preaching at Pentecost, Part 15

When a person is saved, they receive the wonderful gift of the indwelling of the Holy Spirit.  In previous messages, Bro. Jeff describes the anticipation and activity of the Spirit.  Here, he explains what the Spirit is trying to do in your life and mine.

  1. The Setting that was Provided
  2. The Spirit that was Present
  3. The Sermon that was Preached
  4. The Souls that were Pricked
  5. The Salvation that was Proclaimed
    1. The Repentance that Salvation Requires
    2. The Baptism that Salvation Precedes
    3. The Remission that Salvation Brings
    4. The Gift that Salvation Receives

      2. The Activity of the Spirit
        1. Quickened by the Spirit
        2. Indwelt by the Spirit
        3. Baptized by the Spirit
        4. Sealed by the Spirit
        5. Gifted by the Spirit
        6. Transformed by the Spirit
        7. Assured by the Spirit
        8. Led by the Spirit
        9. Taught by the Spirit
        10. Empowered by the Spirit

        1. To Form Us
        2. To Fill Us

Romans 8:29 (KJV)

29 For whom he did foreknow, he also did predestinate to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brethren.

2 Corinthians 3:17-18

17 Now the Lord is that Spirit: and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty.

18 But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the Lord.

Ephesians 5:18

18 And be not drunk with wine, wherein is excess; but be filled with the Spirit;

Acts 4:8

Then Peter, filled with the Holy Ghost, said unto them, Ye rulers of the people, and elders of Israel,

Galatians 5:16-25

16 This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh.

17 For the flesh lusteth against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh: and these are contrary the one to the other: so that ye cannot do the things that ye would.

18 But if ye be led of the Spirit, ye are not under the law.

19 Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness,

20 Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies,

21 Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God.

22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith,

23 Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.

24 And they that are Christ’s have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts.

25 If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit.

Romans 6:11-13

11 Likewise reckon ye also yourselves to be dead indeed unto sin, but alive unto God through Jesus Christ our Lord.

12 Let not sin therefore reign in your mortal body, that ye should obey it in the lusts thereof.

13 Neither yield ye your members as instruments of unrighteousness unto sin: but yield yourselves unto God, as those that are alive from the dead, and your members as instruments of righteousness unto God.

Romans 13:14

14 But put ye on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make not provision for the flesh, to fulfil the lusts thereof.
