It’s a sad day when those who have turned away are turned away.” Jesus warns of the consequences of rejecting the truth of the gospel; Bro. Jeff throws out a lifeline in this powerful message. While the darkness was coming on one, the darkness left the other. The sorcerer was not seeing anything, but the deputy saw it all. Both were in spiritual darkness, but the sorcerer gained physical darkness as well, while the deputy was delivered and found spiritual Light. Bro. Jeff explains more as he wraps up the account of this spiritual battle.
While the hand of God usually brings blessing, it can also bring judgment. As a consequence of his spiritual darkness, the sorcerer receives a punishment of seasonal darkness. The Bible doesn’t continue the account of the sorcerer’s life, but we hope he surrendered to Jesus as his Lord and Savior. Bro. Jeff describes the eternal darkness that results for those who don’t receive the wonderful gift of salvation. So much in this message applies to us today.

The contrast between the world’s perception of greatness and God’s view of greatness is clear in the passage of scripture that is the focus this message. Our view of greatness often falls more in line with that of the Jewish leaders in Jesus’ day, but Bro. Jeff encourages to to adopt God’s view of greatness and to see Jesus for who He really is.
It is human nature to want to be great. We want to win. We like to be associated with those who are considered great. Even though this desire for greatness is encouraged in our society, Bro.
